श्रीदेव्युवाच । नाहं देव जगच्चैतत्संहरामि महाद्युते । अम्बा भूत्वा विचेष्टं न भक्षयामि भृशातुरम्
śrīdevyuvāca | nāhaṃ deva jagaccaitatsaṃharāmi mahādyute | ambā bhūtvā viceṣṭaṃ na bhakṣayāmi bhṛśāturam
Sang Dewi bersabda: “Wahai dewa yang bercahaya agung, aku tidak memusnahkan dunia ini. Setelah menjadi seorang ibu, aku tidak sanggup menelan yang tidak berdaya dan sangat menderita.”
