Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Jyotirlinga: Viśvanātha
Sthala Purana: The verse emphasizes Vedic ṛc-recitation while offering fruits and then performing sarva-samarpaṇa (complete dedication) to Śambhu—mirroring Kāśī’s ideal of total surrender to Viśveśvara as the liberating Lord.
Significance: Fruit-offering and total dedication (ātma-nivedana) are treated as bhakti-sādhana that ripens into Śiva’s grace, especially in Kāśī where surrender to Viśvanātha is linked with liberation.
Mantra: (ṛc opening) imā rudrā…; (ṛc opening) namo vrajyāya…
Type: rudram
Role: liberating
Offering: naivedya
It teaches that worship is completed not merely by giving an item (fruit) but by inner surrender—dedicating the whole of one’s actions and possessions to Śambhu, the Lord who grants grace and liberation.
In Linga-pūjā, offerings are accompanied by mantras; here the Vedic ṛcs sanctify the act, and the final instruction—offering ‘everything’ to Śambhu—expresses Saguna worship that ripens into devotion and dependence on Shiva’s grace.
Perform fruit-offering with mantra-recitation and conclude with a complete act of śaraṇāgati (surrender), mentally placing all results and the entire worship at Shiva’s feet.
