Inquiry into Śiva-knowledge and Śiva’s self-manifestation in creation
Suta Goswami (narrating the Shiva Purana account to the sages, as typical of the Vayu Samhita frame)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: nurturing
Offering: pushpa
It presents Shiva as Maheśvara—the supreme Pati—before whom even perfected beings and divine hosts stand in reverence, highlighting bhakti (hymnic praise) as a direct means to receive Shiva’s grace.
The verse emphasizes Saguna worship—praising the Great Lord as personally present and worthy of stotra—supporting the Shiva Purana’s approach that devotion to Shiva’s manifest form (including Linga worship) purifies the pashu and loosens pasha through divine favor.
Stotra-pāṭha (recitation of hymns) and nāma-smaraṇa (remembering Shiva’s names) are implied; as a practical takeaway, one may chant “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” with focused devotion, optionally with bhasma (Tripuṇḍra) and rudrākṣa as Shaiva supports.
