sarvajñau satataṃ dhyeyau nānārūpavibhedataḥ | vimuktiḥ pratyayaḥ pūrvaḥ pratyayaścāṇimādikam
Dua Tuhan Yang Maha Mengetahui hendaklah sentiasa direnungi, menurut perbezaan pelbagai rupa-Nya. Mula-mula lahir keyakinan teguh yang membawa kepada pembebasan (vimukti); kemudian timbul keyakinan yang menghasilkan siddhi seperti aṇimā dan yang lain-lain.
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Sthala Purana: Not a Jyotirliṅga passage; it states fruits of meditating on the omniscient divine pair: first liberating conviction (vimukti-pratyaya), then siddhis like aṇimā.
Significance: Prioritizes mokṣa over siddhi: liberation-oriented certainty arises first; powers are secondary byproducts, aligning pilgrimage ethos with liberation rather than display.
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: liberating
It teaches that constant meditation on the omniscient divine reality (Shiva with Shakti) should aim primarily at liberating realization (vimukti-pratyaya); siddhis may arise, but they are secondary to moksha.
By affirming meditation through “many forms,” it supports saguna upāsanā—such as Linga worship and contemplation of Shiva’s forms—while directing the devotee toward the higher fruit of liberation rather than fascination with extraordinary powers.
Sustained dhyāna (continuous contemplation) on Shiva–Shakti, ideally supported by japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and disciplined worship; the key instruction is to prioritize moksha-oriented conviction over pursuit of aṇimā and other siddhis.
