Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Significance: Affirms nitya-arcana (daily worship) as a direct means to Śiva’s grace (anugraha) and stabilization of sādhaka’s discipline; kumbha-pūjā provides an accessible substitute when a fixed liṅga/bera is unavailable.
Mantra: nityamārādhayettatra devyā devaṃ trilocanam | ekamevātha vā kuṃbhaṃ mūrtimantrasamanvitam
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: nurturing
Offering: pushpa
It teaches nitya-upāsanā (daily worship) of Pati (Śiva) inseparably with Śakti (Devī), emphasizing that steady devotion supported by mantra and a sanctified focus leads the bound soul (paśu) toward Śiva’s grace and liberation.
It supports Saguna worship by allowing the Lord’s presence to be approached through a tangible support—either direct deity-worship or kumbha worship—where mūrti (iconic form) and mantra together make the divine accessible, akin to linga-upāsanā as a consecrated focus.
Perform daily Śiva–Devī pūjā; alternatively do kumbha-pūjā by invoking Śiva through mantra and establishing the deity’s presence (mūrti-bhāva) in the consecrated pot as the focal support for japa and offering.
