प्रणवविभागः—वेदस्वरूपत्वं लिङ्गे च प्रतिष्ठा
The Division of Oṃ, Its Vedic Forms, and Its Placement in the Liṅga
भोग्यात्मना परिणता विद्यावेद्या यतो मयि । साम चाह सुषुप्त्याख्यमेवं सर्वं मयोच्यते
bhogyātmanā pariṇatā vidyāvedyā yato mayi | sāma cāha suṣuptyākhyamevaṃ sarvaṃ mayocyate
Kuasa pengetahuan, apabila berubah menjadi objek yang dapat dialami (bhogya), menjadi yang dapat diketahui (vedya) kerana ia bernaung dalam Diri-Ku. Dan keadaan itu juga disebut “tidur lena” (suṣupti). Demikianlah, semuanya ini Aku nyatakan.

It frames even the “knowable” world and the deep-sleep condition as dependent on Shiva (Pati), pointing to Him as the ground of consciousness beyond changing states—supporting the Shaiva Siddhanta view that liberation comes by recognizing the Lord as the ultimate substratum.
The Linga symbolizes Shiva as the unchanging support of all states (waking, dream, deep sleep). Saguna worship steadies the mind on Shiva so the seeker recognizes that all objects of experience and their knowing ultimately rest in Him.
Meditatively observe the three states and contemplate the witnessing presence as Shiva; support this with japa of the Panchakshara (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and, if following Shiva Purana practice, wear Rudraksha and apply Tripundra (bhasma) to cultivate steadiness and detachment from bhogya (objects).
