Pañcāvaraṇa-mārga Stotra to Yogeśvara Śiva
सम्बन्धसामान्यविवक्षया कर्मणि पष्ठी । प्रयच्छतु स मे कामं पत्युराज्ञा पुरःसरम् । वीरभद्रो महातेजा हिमकुंदेंदुसन्निभः
sambandhasāmānyavivakṣayā karmaṇi paṣṭhī | prayacchatu sa me kāmaṃ patyurājñā puraḥsaram | vīrabhadro mahātejā himakuṃdeṃdusannibhaḥ

The verse emphasizes that divine power acts in alignment with Pati (Lord Śiva). In Shaiva Siddhanta, grace (anugraha) flows through the Lord’s will; even mighty beings like Vīrabhadra are effective because they are “preceded by” Śiva’s command, reminding the devotee that fulfilment comes through surrender to the Lord’s ordinance.
By highlighting “patyurājñā puraḥsaram,” the verse points to Saguna Śiva as the personal Lord whose conscious will directs all manifestations and attendants. Linga-worship centers on this same truth: the Linga signifies Śiva as the supreme Pati whose grace governs and sanctifies all action.
