पञ्चावरणमार्गस्थं योगेश्वरस्तोत्रम्
Pañcāvaraṇa-mārga Stotra to Yogeśvara Śiva
मूर्धाभिमानिनी मूर्तिः शिवस्य परमात्मनः । शिवार्चनरतं शांतं शांत्यतीतं मखास्थितम्
mūrdhābhimāninī mūrtiḥ śivasya paramātmanaḥ | śivārcanarataṃ śāṃtaṃ śāṃtyatītaṃ makhāsthitam
Inilah wujud Tuhan Śiva, Diri Tertinggi, yang memerintah (dan dikenali) pada bahagian kepala. Ia tekun dalam pemujaan Śiva, hening, melampaui ketenangan, dan teguh dalam upacara korban suci—namun tidak terikat oleh belenggunya.

Significance: Emphasizes inner worship and transcendence: Śiva as paramātman presiding over the ‘head’ (mūrdhan) suggests contemplative ascent and jñāna-oriented devotion, a common pilgrimage fruit (jñāna-vṛddhi) when visiting major Śiva temples.

It presents Śiva as Paramātmā who pervades the subtle body and transcends all states; devotion to Śiva culminates not merely in calmness but in a peace-transcending liberation (śānti-atīta).
By calling the form “devoted to Śiva-worship,” it affirms Saguna upāsanā (worship with form, such as Liṅga-arcana) as a valid means that leads the seeker toward the transcendent reality of Śiva beyond all qualities.
Perform Śiva-arcana with inner dhyāna: keep awareness at the crown/head region while repeating the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), letting ritual action become inward offering rather than mere external karma.
