Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Vaidyanātha
Jyotirlinga: Vaidyanātha
Sthala Purana: Though the verse itself is generic, its promised fruits—ārogya (health) and āyuḥ (longevity)—resonate strongly with Vaidyanātha (Śiva as the divine physician). In jyotirliṅga traditions, Vaidyanātha is famed for healing and relief from disease through Śiva’s grace.
Significance: Sought for healing, longevity, and removal of chronic afflictions; devotees perform japa and abhiṣeka seeking ārogya and aiśvarya.
Type: stotra
Role: nurturing
It teaches that steady devotional discipline (niṣṭhā) in repeating a Shiva-stotra purifies the devotee and yields both worldly well-being (āyus, ārogya, aiśvarya) and supportive conditions for higher Shaiva realization under Pati (Shiva).
The verse emphasizes Saguna devotion through stotra-japa—praise and remembrance of Shiva’s gracious form—commonly practiced alongside Linga-worship, where sound (stotra/mantra) and symbol (Liṅga) unite as vehicles of grace.
Regular japa of the referenced hymn with steadfastness—ideally supported by Shaiva observances like clean conduct, simple worship, and (where traditional) Rudraksha and vibhuti—so the mind remains fixed on Shiva.
