Cosmic Event: Graha-maṇḍala framing: inclusion of Rāhu–Ketu (eclipse-causers) and Dhūmra as fearsome astral force within Śiva’s ritual cosmos
It places the grahas (planetary powers) within a devotional framework: by remembering them under Shiva’s cosmic order, the seeker treats karmic forces as subordinate to Pati (Shiva), cultivating surrender rather than fear.
In Shaiva Siddhanta, the grahas operate within the bonds (pāśa) of karma; worship of Saguna Shiva through the Linga is the refuge that harmonizes these forces and turns worldly afflictions into steps toward purification.
A practical takeaway is graha-smaraṇa (reverent remembrance) combined with Shiva-upāsanā—especially Panchākṣarī japa ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") and offering bhasma/Tripuṇḍra as a sign of taking shelter in Shiva above all astrological pressures.
