आवरणपूजाविधानम् / The Procedure of Āvaraṇa (Enclosure) Worship

आढ्यो वाथ दरिद्रो वा स्वकां शक्तिमवंचयन् । द्रव्यैर्न्यायार्जितैरेव भक्त्या देवं समर्चयेत्

āḍhyo vātha daridro vā svakāṃ śaktimavaṃcayan | dravyairnyāyārjitaireva bhaktyā devaṃ samarcayet

Sama ada kaya atau miskin, tanpa menahan kemampuan diri, hendaklah seseorang menyembah Tuhan dengan bhakti, hanya dengan persembahan yang diperoleh secara benar dan adil.

It teaches that Śiva is pleased not by wealth but by sincere bhakti joined to dharma—offering according to one’s means and without deceit, using honestly earned resources.

In Liṅga/Saguṇa worship, the purity of the upacāras (offerings) matters: one may offer little or much, but it should be obtained righteously and offered with devotion, which sanctifies the act of pūjā.

Perform simple Śiva-pūjā with whatever you can honestly provide—water, bilva leaves, lamp, or naivedya—while maintaining steady devotion (often supported by japa of the Pañcākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”).
