साधक-दीक्षा तथा मन्त्रसाधन
Puraścaraṇa and the Discipline of the Mantra-Sādhaka
इत्युत्वा देवमभ्यर्च्य लब्धानुज्ञः शिवाद्गुरुः । साधनं शिवयोगं च साधकाय समादिशेत्
ityutvā devamabhyarcya labdhānujñaḥ śivādguruḥ | sādhanaṃ śivayogaṃ ca sādhakāya samādiśet
Setelah berkata demikian, lalu memuja Tuhan dan memperoleh izin daripada Śiva, sang Guru hendaklah mengarahkan si sādhaka tentang disiplin sādhana serta Śiva-yoga.
Suta Goswami (narrating the Vāyavīya teaching to the sages of Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Role: teaching
Offering: pushpa
It establishes the Shaiva principle that true sādhanā and Śiva-yoga are transmitted through a Guru who is aligned with Śiva’s will—teaching is grounded in worship, permission (anugraha), and right instruction leading toward liberation.
The verse places abhyarcana (ritual worship) first, indicating that devotion to Saguna Śiva—often through Liṅga-pūjā—purifies and prepares the aspirant, after which the Guru imparts Śiva-yoga as the inner path.
It suggests beginning with Śiva-pūjā and then receiving Guru-taught sādhana and meditation (Śiva-yoga); the emphasis is on authorized instruction rather than a specific item like rudrākṣa or bhasma in this single verse.
