भक्ताधिकारि-द्विजधर्म-योगिलक्षणवर्णनम् / Duties of Qualified Devotees and Marks of Yogins
सर्वसंगनिवृत्तिश्च दशैतानि विशेषतः । लिंगानि योगिनां भूयो दिवा भिक्षाशनं तथा
sarvasaṃganivṛttiśca daśaitāni viśeṣataḥ | liṃgāni yogināṃ bhūyo divā bhikṣāśanaṃ tathā
Penarikan diri sepenuhnya daripada segala keterikatan—sepuluh perkara ini, khususnya, ialah tanda-tanda khas para yogin. Lagi pula, mereka hanya makan makanan sedekah (bhikṣā), dan itu pun pada waktu siang sahaja.

Significance: Frames yogic detachment and regulated alms as preparatory disciplines for Śiva-anugraha; supports pilgrimage as a context for vairāgya and sādhana rather than merit-seeking.
It highlights vairagya—freedom from attachment—as a primary sign of the Shaiva yogin, indicating the loosening of pāśa (bondage) so the soul may turn steadily toward Pati (Lord Shiva) and liberation.
The Linga is worshiped as Shiva’s accessible form, but this verse stresses inner eligibility: detachment and disciplined simplicity purify the devotee so external worship matures into steady contemplation of Shiva.
A practical discipline is implied: live on bhikṣā (alms) with restraint—eating only by day—supporting meditation, japa, and Shaiva observances by reducing craving and sensory agitation.
