It highlights Śiva’s anugraha (grace): the Lord tenderly accepts and sanctifies the child, affirming divine order and the Goddess’s fulfillment—showing that liberation-oriented dharma is supported by Śiva’s compassionate, personal (saguṇa) presence.
Though Liṅga worship often points to the transcendent (nirguṇa) reality, this scene emphasizes saguṇa Śiva—God who is near, affectionate, and relational. Devotees approach the Liṅga with the same trust that the Lord personally receives and blesses them.
A practical takeaway is bhakti with reverence: perform Liṅga-pūjā with the pañcākṣara mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” offering water and bilva leaves while meditating on Śiva’s anugraha—his intimate, purifying acceptance of the devotee.
