शिशुकस्य शिवशास्त्रप्राप्तिः (Śiśuka’s Attainment of Śaiva Teaching and Grace)

The verse highlights the Shaiva principle that successful sadhana begins with humility (praṇāma) and right resolve; tapas is not mere hardship but a disciplined offering that ripens through both personal effort and auspicious grace.
Although the Linga is not named here, the narrative mood supports Saguna Shiva worship: reverence, obedience to dharma, and beginning austerities with blessings—qualities that traditionally precede Linga-upasana, japa, and vrata undertaken for Shiva’s anugraha.
A practical takeaway is to commence tapas with pranama and a sankalpa for auspiciousness—then proceed with steady japa (e.g., Panchakshara ‘Om Namaḥ Śivāya’), vrata discipline, and a sattvic routine, seeking divine support rather than ego-driven austerity.
