Shiva Purana — Vayaviya Samhita, Shloka 44

Bhadra’s Divine Chariot-Ascent and the Conch-Blast

FAQs

It emphasizes Shiva as Pati (the Supreme Lord) whose sovereignty eclipses even divine vaibhava; when pride and reliance on mere power are shattered, beings recognize the need for surrender and grace.

The verse portrays Saguna Shiva as the active Lord who subdues cosmic forces; Linga-worship similarly trains the devotee to see all powers as dependent on Shiva and to approach him with reverence rather than self-importance.

A practical takeaway is humble japa of the Panchakshara—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—with Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and inner surrender, acknowledging Shiva as the sole refuge beyond all worldly or celestial strength.
