Invocation, Sacred Setting, and the Arrival of Sūta

It establishes the Purāṇa as a primary vehicle of sacred meaning—remembered and articulated by Brahmā—through which seekers can access dharma and liberation-oriented teaching in an accessible narrative form, aligned with Shaiva Siddhanta’s emphasis on right knowledge (jñāna) leading the soul (paśu) toward the Lord (Pati).
By grounding Purāṇic instruction in primordial authority (Brahmā and the Vedas), it supports the legitimacy of Purāṇic Shaiva practices—such as Linga worship—as valid, Veda-consistent expressions of Saguna Shiva devotion that purify the bonds (pāśa) and orient the devotee toward Shiva.
The practical takeaway is śravaṇa (devotional listening/recitation) of Purāṇic Shiva-kathā with faith, supported by japa of the Panchakshara ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") as a Veda-aligned contemplative discipline.
