Rahu’s Aftermath and Jalandhara’s Mobilization
Suta Goswami (traditional Purāṇic colophon framing to the sages of Naimiṣāraṇya)
This is a colophon marking the completion of a chapter, reminding the listener that the narrative of conflict is ultimately situated within Śiva’s cosmic governance—where dharma is restored through His śakti and His gaṇas acting as instruments of the Pati (Lord) over disorder.
Though not a direct instruction on Liṅga worship, the chapter-ending frame places the battle narrative under Saguna Śiva’s lordship—Śiva as the personal, protective Lord whose attendants (gaṇas) uphold His will, reinforcing devotional trust (bhakti) in the Lord who intervenes in the world.
No specific rite is prescribed in this colophon; the practical takeaway is śravaṇa (devotional listening/recitation) of Śiva Purāṇa narratives with remembrance of Śiva as Pati—often paired in Śaiva practice with japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) for inner steadiness amid life’s conflicts.
