(Devastuti) — Hymn/Praise of the Devas
Suta Goswami (narrating the Shiva-stuti within the Yuddhakhaṇḍa context)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Offering: naivedya
The verse declares that Shiva is the inner essence (Pati) behind sacred action, cosmic time, and auspicious observances—teaching that rituals and calendars gain power only when rooted in Shiva-conscious devotion.
By identifying Shiva with the highest sacrifice and the most potent sacred times, it supports Saguna worship—especially Linga-pūjā—where offerings and observances are directed to Shiva as the living reality present in the icon and rite.
Observe Shiva worship on Amāvāsyā (and other auspicious timings like Puṣya), performing Linga abhiṣeka with japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), optionally with bhasma (tripuṇḍra) and rudrākṣa as Shaiva supports.
