संध्याचरित्रवर्णनम् (Sandhyā-caritra-varṇanam) — “Narration of Sandhyā’s Austerity and Encounter with Śiva”

तपसा सत्समो नास्ति न भूतो न भविष्यति । येन यज्ञस्समारब्धो ज्योतिष्टोमो महाविधिः

tapasā satsamo nāsti na bhūto na bhaviṣyati | yena yajñassamārabdho jyotiṣṭomo mahāvidhiḥ

Tiada kebajikan suci yang menyamai tapa (tapas)—tidak pernah ada pada masa lampau dan tidak akan ada pada masa hadapan—kerana dengan tapa, korban Jyotiṣṭoma yang agung, menurut tata-aturan yang besar, dapat dimulakan dan dijalankan dengan sempurna.
