देव-गण-समरः

Devas and Śiva’s Gaṇas Engage in Battle

न स्वज्ञेयो महेशानस्सर्ववेदायुतेन सः । भक्तेरनन्यशरणैर्नान्यथेति महाश्रुतिः

na svajñeyo maheśānassarvavedāyutena saḥ | bhakterananyaśaraṇairnānyatheti mahāśrutiḥ

Maheshāna (Tuhan Śiva) tidak dapat dikenal dengan sebenar-benarnya hanya dengan menguasai Veda yang tidak terbilang. Kesaksian śāstra yang agung menyatakan bahawa Baginda dicapai hanya oleh para bhakta yang berlindung secara tunggal pada bhakti—bukan dengan jalan lain.
