पार्वतीबाल्यलीलावर्णनम् — Description of Pārvatī’s Childhood/Birth Festivities
इति श्रीशिवमहापुराणे द्वितीयायां रुद्रसंहितायां तृतीये पार्वतीखण्डे पार्वतीबाल्यलीलावर्णनंनाम सप्तमो ऽध्यायः
iti śrīśivamahāpurāṇe dvitīyāyāṃ rudrasaṃhitāyāṃ tṛtīye pārvatīkhaṇḍe pārvatībālyalīlāvarṇanaṃnāma saptamo 'dhyāyaḥ
Demikianlah, dalam Śrī Śiva Mahāpurāṇa—pada Saṃhitā kedua, iaitu Rudra-saṃhitā, bahagian ketiga, Pārvatī-khaṇḍa—berakhirlah bab ketujuh yang bertajuk “Huraian Līlā Zaman Kanak-kanak Pārvatī.”
Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya; this is a colophon-style closing line)
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: nurturing
This is a concluding colophon that anchors the teaching in a precise scriptural hierarchy (Purāṇa → Saṃhitā → Khaṇḍa → Adhyāya), emphasizing disciplined śravaṇa (listening) and remembrance of Śiva-Śakti līlā as a valid devotional path in Śaiva tradition.
Though it does not mention the Liṅga directly, it frames the Pārvatī-khaṇḍa narrative where devotion to Śiva as Saguna (with attributes) is cultivated through Śakti’s life and pastimes—supporting bhakti that matures toward knowledge of Śiva as the supreme Pati.
Use it as a chapter-end saṅkalpa marker: conclude recitation with a brief namaskāra to Śiva-Śakti and mentally dedicate the listening/reading (śravaṇa) as worship; optionally follow with japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” to seal the practice.
