The verse highlights the Shaiva ethic that outer abundance—cows, horses, attendants, ornaments—becomes spiritually meaningful when offered with devotion and right intention, transforming worldly wealth into an instrument of dharma and inner purification.
In Saguna Shiva worship, offerings and acts of support (dāna, seva) are extensions of pūjā: the devotee honors Shiva by sustaining dharma in the world. Such giving complements Linga worship by cultivating humility and surrender rather than mere display.
Practice dāna as a limb of worship—offer resources according to capacity, mentally dedicate the merit to Lord Shiva, and accompany it with japa of the Panchākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” keeping the attitude of service (seva) foremost.
