Role: teaching
It highlights the Shaiva virtue of satya (truthfulness) in sacred narration: sincere inquiry and transparent instruction remove doubt and support steady bhakti toward Shiva.
By insisting on the full, truthful account, the verse reflects how devotees approach Saguna Shiva—through clear listening (śravaṇa) to Shiva-kathā, which matures devotion that can culminate in deeper realization of Shiva beyond form.
The implied practice is śravaṇa and manana—listening attentively to Shiva’s sacred narrative and reflecting on it; this can be paired with japa of the Panchakshara mantra, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” to stabilize devotion.
