दीनानाथ महेश शंकरसुत त्रैलोक्यनाथ प्रभो मायाधीश समागतोऽस्मि शरणं मां पाहि विप्रप्रिय । त्वं सर्वप्रभुप्रियः खिलविदब्रह्मादिदेवैस्तुतस्त्वं मायाकृतिरात्मभक्तसुखदो रक्षापरो मायिकः
dīnānātha maheśa śaṃkarasuta trailokyanātha prabho māyādhīśa samāgato'smi śaraṇaṃ māṃ pāhi viprapriya | tvaṃ sarvaprabhupriyaḥ khilavidabrahmādidevaistutastvaṃ māyākṛtirātmabhaktasukhado rakṣāparo māyikaḥ
Wahai Pelindung orang papa, wahai Maheśa—putera Śaṅkara, wahai Penguasa tiga alam, wahai Prabhu, Penguasa Māyā: aku datang berlindung kepada-Mu; lindungilah aku, wahai Kekasih para brāhmaṇa. Engkau dikasihi oleh segala penguasa; Engkau dipuji oleh Brahmā dan para dewa yang serba mengetahui. Walau Engkau menzahirkan diri sebagai Tuhan yang menguasai Māyā, Engkau menganugerahkan kebahagiaan kepada para bhakta-Mu, dan sebagai Tuhan yang menakjubkan Engkau sentiasa tekun melindungi.

It expresses śaraṇāgati (total refuge) to the Lord who rules māyā yet compassionately protects and grants bliss to devotees—highlighting grace (anugraha) as the decisive force for spiritual safety and liberation in Shaiva understanding.
The prayer praises a personal, accessible Lord (saguṇa)—here addressed as Śaṅkara’s son—while affirming His supremacy over māyā; this aligns with Liṅga/Saguṇa worship where devotees approach the Divine through a form, receiving protection and inner joy as signs of grace.
A simple practice is repeated śaraṇāgati with japa—mentally offering oneself to Śiva and His divine family while chanting “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” followed by a prayer for rakṣā (protection) and steadiness in bhakti.
