Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: creative
The verse highlights īśvara-anugraha (divine grace): the Lord, moved by compassion, arranges the birth of the divinely empowered son who will remove the asuric obstacle (Tāraka) and restore dharma—showing that cosmic order is upheld through Shiva’s benevolent will.
Though the verse is narrative, it reflects Saguna Shiva’s active compassion: the Supreme Lord responds to the devas’ plight through a concrete, salvific act (bestowing a son). In Shaiva Siddhanta terms, this is Pati’s grace operating within the world to loosen pāśa (bondage) and protect devotees.
The takeaway is to seek Shiva’s kṛpā through steady bhakti—daily japa of the Pañcākṣarī mantra ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") and simple linga-pūjā—praying for the removal of inner “Tāraka” (pride, fear, and obstruction) by divine grace.
