गणेश-वाक्यं तथा गणानां समर-सन्नाहः | Gaṇeśa’s Challenge and the Mustering of the Gaṇas
ते सर्वे मिलिताश्चैव मुहुर्नत्वा शिवं तदा । अब्रुवन्वचनं क्षिप्रं कोऽयं गणवरः प्रभो
te sarve militāścaiva muhurnatvā śivaṃ tadā | abruvanvacanaṃ kṣipraṃ ko'yaṃ gaṇavaraḥ prabho
Lalu mereka semua berhimpun, bersujud berulang-ulang kepada Dewa Śiva, lalu segera berkata: “Wahai Tuhan, siapakah gaṇa yang paling utama dalam kalangan gaṇa-Mu?”
Suta Goswami (narrating the dialogue as part of the Shiva Purana narration)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Role: teaching
Offering: pushpa
The verse highlights bhakti expressed through repeated bowing to Śiva and the sincere inquiry into His divine order (gaṇas), teaching humility and reverence before seeking knowledge.
By repeatedly bowing to Śiva and addressing Him directly as “Prabho,” the verse reflects Saguna-upāsanā—devotion to Śiva as the gracious Lord who reveals His retinue, powers, and līlā to devotees.
A practical takeaway is namaskāra (prostration) with mindful repetition—preceding prayer or japa (such as the Pañcākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with humility and surrender.
