Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Role: destructive
Kārtikeya’s roar and readiness symbolize the awakened śakti of dharma: when the devotee aligns with Pati (Śiva) and his order, inner fear is subdued and righteous strength arises to overcome pasha (bondage) and adharma.
Kārtikeya is a manifestation of Śiva’s saguna grace acting in the world—protecting cosmic order. Remembering such leelas while worshiping the Śiva-liṅga trains the mind to see Śiva’s governance (niyati) and protection operating through divine forms.
A practical takeaway is japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) before undertaking difficult duties, cultivating steadiness and self-control; mentally offer one’s anger into Śiva (as a purified force for dharma) rather than letting it become ego-driven.
