Worship of Gajānana and the Procedure of Aupāsana-Homa
आहिताग्निस्तु यः कुर्य्यात्प्राजापत्येष्टिमाहिते । श्रौते वैश्वानरे सम्यक्सर्ववेदसदक्षिणाम्
āhitāgnistu yaḥ kuryyātprājāpatyeṣṭimāhite | śraute vaiśvānare samyaksarvavedasadakṣiṇām
Sesiapa yang merupakan āhitāgni, yakni penjaga api- api suci yang telah ditegakkan, hendaklah dengan sempurna melaksanakan korban Prājāpatya dalam api yang telah dikonsekrasi—menurut tata Śrauta, dalam ritus Vaiśvānara—serta memberikan dakṣiṇā (upah persembahan) yang wajar, selaras dengan semua Veda.

It upholds disciplined dharma—right performance of sacred duty with purity and proper giving (dakṣiṇā)—as a supportive foundation for Shaiva spiritual life, where outer order steadies the mind for Shiva-realization.
Śrauta sacrifices honor Agni and cosmic order, but in Shaiva framing they become auxiliaries: when performed correctly and offered with devotion, they refine the worshipper and can be directed toward Saguna Shiva (including Linga worship) as the supreme recipient of all sacred acts.
It emphasizes orthodox fire-discipline (āhitāgni, Śrauta procedure) and the ethic of dakṣiṇā; as a Shaiva takeaway, one may pair such disciplined practice with steady japa of the Panchākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) to internalize the sacrifice as inner offering.
