अग्निर्हि विद्मना निदो देवो मर्तमुरुष्यति । सहावा यस्यावृतो रयिर्वाजेष्ववृतः ॥

agnír hí vidmánā nidó devó mártam uruṣyáti | sahá-vā́ yásyā́vṛto rayír vā́jeṣv ávṛtaḥ ||

Agni, sungguh, dengan pengetahuannya melindungi insan fana daripada penyangkalan yang memusuhi; bersamanya sebagai sahabat, bagi dia yang kelimpahannya tidak tertutup—kekayaan dayanya juga tidak tertutup dalam kemenangan-kemenangan.
