Sukta 10.124
ता अस्य ज्येष्ठमिन्द्रियं सचन्ते ता ईमा क्षेति स्वधया मदन्तीः । ता ईं विशो न राजानं वृणाना बीभत्सुवो अप वृत्रादतिष्ठन् ॥
tā́ asya jyéṣṭham indriyáṃ sacante tā́ īmā́ kṣéti svadháyā mádantīḥ | tā́ īṃ víśo ná rājānaṃ vṛṇānā́ bībhatsúvo ápa vṛtrā́d atiṣṭhan ||
Mereka berpaut pada kekuatan tertingginya, daya-Indra-nya; mereka menetap di sini, bersukaria menurut hukum batin mereka sendiri (svadhā). Seperti rakyat memilih seorang raja, mereka memilihnya; berpaling daripada selubung Vṛtra, mereka berdiri terasing daripadanya.
