Dipukul oleh puncak gunung itu, raja Vānara pun pengsan lalu rebah ke bumi di medan perang. Melihatnya terbaring tidak sedarkan diri, para Rākṣasa bersorak girang dan melaungkan pekik kemenangan.
Struck by the piece of mountain the Vanara king became unconscious and dropped on the battlefield. Seeing that the Rakshasas were happy and naturally roared with a feeling of triumph.
The verse implicitly critiques delight in another’s suffering; Dharma values steadiness and compassion, whereas celebrating a fallen opponent reflects adharma-oriented triumphalism.
Sugrīva is knocked unconscious by the blow of a mountain peak, and the Rākṣasas react with loud celebration.
The verse emphasizes the moral contrast: the Rākṣasas’ gloating versus the Vānara side’s expected loyalty and resolve that will follow.
