महोदर-वाक्यं कुम्भकर्ण-प्रतिषेधः
Mahodara’s Counsel and the Critique of Kumbhakarna’s Solo Assault
ततोगत्वावयंयुद्धंदास्यामस्तस्ययत्नतः ।जेष्यामोयदितेशत्रून्नोपायैःकृत्यमस्तिनः ।।।।
tato gatvā vayaṃ yuddhaṃ dāsyāmas tasya yatnataḥ |
jeṣyāmo yadi te śatrūn nopāyaiḥ kṛtyam asti naḥ ||
Maka setelah kami mara, kami akan menentangnya dalam peperangan dengan segenap daya. Jika kami menewaskan musuh-musuh tuanku, tiadalah perlu lagi bagi kami memakai helah diplomasi yang lain.
"Thereafter, proceeding forth we shall try to win your enemy. If we win, there will be no purpose for you to do any action."
He refers to the traditional four diplomatic strategies (Sama, Dana, Bheda, Danda). He implies that direct brute force (Danda) renders the subtle strategies of negotiation or bribery unnecessary.
It highlights the Kshatra Dharma (warrior code) and loyalty to the king (Swami-bhakti), where Kumbhakarna resolves to fight for his brother despite his earlier criticisms of Ravana's actions.
