लङ्काद्वारव्यूहवर्णनम् / Disposition at the Gates of Lanka
वानराएवनश्चिह्नंस्वजनेऽस्मिन् भविष्यति ।।6.37.34।।वयंतुमानुषेणैवसप्तयोत्प्यामहेपरान् ।अहमेषममभ्रात्रालक्ष्मणेनमहौजसौ ।।6.37.35।।आत्मनापञ्चमश्चायंसखाममविभीषणः ।
vayaṃ tu mānuṣeṇaiva sapta yotsyāmahe parān |
ahaṃ eṣa mama bhrātrā lakṣmaṇena mahaujasau ||6.37.35||
ātmana pañcamaś cāyaṃ sakhā mama vibhīṣaṇaḥ |
Namun kami akan bertempur melawan musuh hanya dalam rupa manusia—tujuh orang semuanya: aku sendiri, adikku yang perkasa Lakṣmaṇa; dan sebagai yang kelima, sahabatku ini, Vibhīṣaṇa.
"To know our own people the Vanaras are the sign of recognition Chivalrous Lakshmana, my brother, similarly five of us and our friend Vibheeshana, these seven people alone will wage war in human form."
Rama frames the battle as a dharmic, accountable war led by identifiable leaders; fighting in human guise underscores responsibility, restraint, and truthfulness (satya) in conduct rather than relying on disguises or confusion.
By naming Vibhishana as a trusted ally, Rama affirms that righteousness (dharma) and truth (satya) are the basis of fellowship—not birth or former allegiance—honoring Vibhishana’s choice to stand for dharma against adharma.
