Vibhishana and Indrajit: Counsel, Boast, and Rebuttal
धनानिरत्नानिसुभूषणानिवासांसिदिव्यानिमणींश्च ।चित्रान् सीतांचरामायनिवेद्यदेवींवसेमराजन् निहवीतशोकाः ।।6.15.14।।
dhanāni ratnāni subhūṣaṇāni vāsāṃsi divyāni maṇīṃś ca citrān | sītāṃ ca rāmāya nivedya devīṃ vase ma rājan nihavīta-śokāḥ ||6.15.14||
Wahai Raja, marilah kita persembahkan kepada Rāma Dewi Sītā, beserta harta, permata, perhiasan indah, busana surgawi, dan batu-batu mulia yang gemilang; maka kita dapat tinggal di sini tanpa dukacita.
"I pushed down the elephant Airavata coming towards me making noise, pulled down its tusks forcibly and chased the entire group of gods."
Restorative dharma: wrongdoing should be corrected by returning what was taken (Sītā) and making restitution, choosing peace through truth rather than persisting in injustice.
Vibhīṣaṇa urges Rāvaṇa to end the conflict by surrendering Sītā to Rāma with gifts, thereby saving Laṅkā from destruction.
Moral courage and compassionate statesmanship—prioritizing the people’s welfare and righteousness over ego and possessiveness.
