अष्टसप्ततितमः सर्गः — Śatrughna’s Fury and Bharata’s Restraint
Mantharā Episode
The mighty and the best of men Satrughna seized with fury, forcibly caught hold of that hunchback and censured Kaikeyi with harsh words.
Accountability for adharma is demanded, but the method matters: dharma permits moral censure of wrongdoing while cautioning against cruelty and uncontrolled rage.
Śatrughna, furious, escalates from physically seizing Mantharā to verbally attacking Kaikeyī, whom he holds responsible for the calamity.
Moral intolerance of injustice (a protective impulse), though compromised by harsh speech—showing the need to align righteous intent with righteous conduct.
