FAQs

It presents tīrtha-bathing as a potent act of merit (puṇya), equating a bath at Varadāna with the merit traditionally associated with donating a thousand cows.

It frames pilgrimage as a sequence—after receiving merit at one sacred site, the pilgrim is instructed to proceed to another major sacred geography point, Dvāravatī (Dvārakā), associated with Vaiṣṇava tradition.

The verse highlights self-restraint and regulated diet (niyata, niyatāśanaḥ) as proper conduct for a pilgrim, implying that inner discipline should accompany outward ritual acts.
