FAQs

It reflects the classical Hindu view that the gṛhastha-āśrama sustains society and religious life: it supports ritual duties (dharma), responsible livelihood (artha), and regulated enjoyment (kāma), making it a foundational stage for spiritual and social order.

They are the consecrated household fires used for daily rites and offerings. Their preservation symbolizes continuity of vows, ritual purity, and the stability of dharma within the home.

It teaches responsibility and reverence: the devotee seeks divine support to protect household duties, maintain sacred practices, and keep one’s religious commitments from decline.
