Unspecified (a stotra-style salutation within the narrative context of Sṛṣṭikhaṇḍa)

Concept: Auspiciousness (maṅgalya) and prosperity (śrī) are contemplated as inherent divine qualities installed in the deity’s limbs; worship becomes a disciplined visualization that purifies perception.

Application: Use limb-by-limb dhyāna during pūjā: visualize maṅgalya in actions (thighs/strength), restraint at the waist, purity at the navel/belly (padma), and truthful speech at the throat (śrī as dignified splendor).

Primary Rasa: adbhuta

Secondary Rasa: shanta

FAQs

It uses a devotional (stotra) style where bodily regions are revered as seats of specific divine powers (śaktis), expressing that auspiciousness, prosperity, and sacred qualities pervade the whole divine form.

Śrī commonly denotes Lakṣmī and, more broadly, prosperity, splendor, and auspicious fortune—here honored as associated with the throat region.

The verse teaches bhakti through reverent remembrance (nāma and rūpa-smaraṇa): contemplating divine attributes through sacred epithets (Vāmadevī, Padmodarā, Śrī) and offering repeated salutations (namaḥ).
