ततो ब्रह्माभवन्मूढो रजसा चोपबृंहितः । ततोऽयं तेजसा सृष्टिममन्यत मया कृता

tato brahmābhavanmūḍho rajasā copabṛṃhitaḥ | tato'yaṃ tejasā sṛṣṭimamanyata mayā kṛtā

Kemudian Brahmā menjadi terkeliru, semakin membesar oleh rajas. Lalu, dengan tejas (cahaya kemuliaan) dirinya sendiri, dia menyangka bahawa ciptaan ini telah dilakukan olehnya.
