The Exposition of the Maheśa Mantra
Mahēśa-mantra-prakāśana
भूतवेतालकादीनां क्षयोऽयं निग्रहे मनुः । तारो वांतो धरासंस्थो वामनेत्रेंदुभूषितः ॥ १८४ ॥
bhūtavetālakādīnāṃ kṣayo'yaṃ nigrahe manuḥ | tāro vāṃto dharāsaṃstho vāmanetreṃdubhūṣitaḥ || 184 ||
Untuk menundukkan bhūta, vetāla dan seumpamanya, inilah mantra yang membawa kebinasaan mereka. Ṛṣi (penyaksi mantra) ialah Manu; dewa/manifestasinya ialah Tāra; viniyoga-nya ialah “berdiri di atas bumi”; dan tanda ikoniknya ialah bulan sebagai perhiasan pada mata kiri.
