The Exposition of the Maheśa Mantra
Mahēśa-mantra-prakāśana
अष्टलक्षं जपेन्मंत्रं तत्सहस्रं घृतान्वितैः । पायसैर्जुहुयात्पीठेमूर्तिं संकल्प्य मूलतः ॥ १०५ ॥
aṣṭalakṣaṃ japenmaṃtraṃ tatsahasraṃ ghṛtānvitaiḥ | pāyasairjuhuyātpīṭhemūrtiṃ saṃkalpya mūlataḥ || 105 ||
Hendaklah seseorang mengulang japa mantra sebanyak lapan ratus ribu kali; kemudian mempersembahkan seribu oblation (homa) ke dalam api, dicampur ghee dan payasa (susu beras). Sebelumnya, di pīṭha (pelantar/kerusi altar), hendaklah ia menetapkan saṅkalpa dan menegakkan rupa Dewa dari akar niat dan sumber upacara.
