The Exposition of the Nityā-paṭala
पिंडकर्तरि बीजाख्या मन्त्रा मालाभिधाः क्रमात् । एकार्णवन्तो द्व्यर्णाश्च त्रिदिङ्मुखार्णकाः ॥ ५ ॥
piṃḍakartari bījākhyā mantrā mālābhidhāḥ kramāt | ekārṇavanto dvyarṇāśca tridiṅmukhārṇakāḥ || 5 ||
Dalam upacara yang disebut Piṇḍakartṛ, mantra-mantra yang dikenali sebagai “bīja” (benih) menurut tertibnya juga dinamai “mālā” (kalungan). Ia tiga jenis: yang bersuku kata satu, yang bersuku kata dua, dan yang bersuku kata tiga, tersusun seakan-akan menghadap tiga arah.
