Nityā-paṭala-prakaraṇa
The Exposition of the Nityā-paṭala
Sanatkumara (in dialogue instruction to Narada on technical procedures)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It preserves procedural purity (prayoga) in sacred-technical knowledge—showing that correct method, materials, and timing are essential when preparing substances used in ritual or regulated consumption.
Indirectly: Bhakti in the Purana is supported by discipline (niyama). Even practical acts are to be done carefully and lawfully, aligning one’s conduct with dharma that sustains devotional life.
A technical ‘prayoga’ principle: using a small amount of prior ferment (āsava-leśa) as a starter culture and observing a defined time window (two days) for proper fermentation.
