Sanatkumara (in instruction to Narada on mantra-vidya)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: raudra
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It records a technical mantra-definition: the text identifies a specific Bagalā mantra by its components (command-words and bīja), showing how mantra-vidyā classifies and transmits ritual formulas with precision.
Direct bhakti theology is not the focus here; instead, it reflects the Purana’s third-pāda emphasis on applied sacred knowledge—where disciplined mantra practice is treated as a specialized aid for protection and control, ideally subordinated to dharma and devotion.
Mantra-lakṣaṇa (technical features of a mantra) is highlighted—especially the use of a bīja (seed-syllable) and imperative ritual terms like kīlaya, which function as operational instructions within a rite.
