अर्थवादं हरे र्नाम्नि पाषंडं नामसंग्रहे । अलसे नास्तिके चैव हरिनामोपदेशनम् ॥ २३ ॥
arthavādaṃ hare rnāmni pāṣaṃḍaṃ nāmasaṃgrahe | alase nāstike caiva harināmopadeśanam || 23 ||
Menganggap Nama Hari sekadar kata-kata hiperbola (arthavāda), memegang pandangan sesat ketika mengamalkan japa Nama, dan mengajarkan Nama Hari kepada orang malas atau ateis—semuanya ini hendaklah dijauhi sebagai kesalahan terhadap Nama Suci.

Bhakti here is not only repetition of the Name but also śraddhā (trust) and proper upadeśa (instruction). The verse implies that devotion flourishes when the Name is approached with reverence and taught to those prepared to honor it.
It highlights dharmic discipline in mantra/nāma transmission—upadeśa must match the adhikāra (fitness) of the recipient, a practical rule aligned with śāstric pedagogy and ritual propriety rather than a technical point of grammar or astrology.
