The Exposition of Nṛsiṁha Worship-Mantras, Nyāsa, Mudrās, Yantras, Kavaca, and Nṛsiṁha Gāyatrī
ऊरू त्रिविक्रमः पातु हृदयं पातु मे नरः । श्रीधरः पातु कण्ठं च हृषीकेशो मुखं मम ॥ ११६ ॥
ūrū trivikramaḥ pātu hṛdayaṃ pātu me naraḥ | śrīdharaḥ pātu kaṇṭhaṃ ca hṛṣīkeśo mukhaṃ mama || 116 ||
Semoga Trivikrama melindungi pahaku; semoga Nara melindungi hatiku. Semoga Śrīdhara melindungi kerongkongku, dan semoga Hṛṣīkeśa melindungi wajahku.
Narada
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It functions as a protective invocation (kavacha-bhāva), assigning specific forms/names of Vishnu to guard particular limbs, turning the devotee’s body into a sanctified field of remembrance and divine protection.
Bhakti here is practiced as continuous reliance on Vishnu’s names and forms—each name is contemplated with faith (śraddhā) and applied to one’s own life, expressing surrender and intimate personal relationship with the Lord.
The practical takeaway aligns with Śikṣā (correct pronunciation) and Chandas sensitivity in recitation: accurate utterance of divine epithets (Trivikrama, Śrīdhara, Hṛṣīkeśa) is treated as essential for disciplined mantra-style prayer.
