It gives the formal mantra-lakṣaṇa (ṛṣi, chandas, devatā) for an eight-syllabled Viṣṇu-mantra, showing that correct identification and reverence for Hari (with Śrī) is the basis for attaining desired spiritual and worldly results.
By naming Hari—associated with Śrī—as the presiding deity and “giver of all desired attainments,” it frames mantra-japa as a direct devotional approach where grace flows from focused worship of Viṣṇu.
Chandas (metre) and mantra-vidhi: it specifies Paṅkti as the chandas and Vyāsa as the ṛṣi, which are used in ritual preliminaries (saṅkalpa/nyāsa) and in technically correct recitation.
