Śeṣoditya-Sūrya-nyāsa, Soma-sādhana, Graha-pūjā, and Bhauma-vrata-vidhi
तन्नो भौमः प्रचोवर्णान्दयांदिति च संवदेत् । भौमस्यैषा तु गायत्री जप्तुः सर्वेष्टसिद्धिदा ॥ १२० ॥
tanno bhaumaḥ pracovarṇāndayāṃditi ca saṃvadet | bhaumasyaiṣā tu gāyatrī japtuḥ sarveṣṭasiddhidā || 120 ||
Hendaklah dibaca: “Semoga Bhauma (Marikh) menggerakkan huruf-huruf (ucapan) kami, dan semoga baginda menganugerahkan belas kasih.” Inilah Gāyatrī bagi Bhauma; sesiapa yang mengulanginya dalam japa akan memperoleh kejayaan segala hajat.

It presents Bhauma’s (Mars) Gāyatrī as a focused japa-mantra: aligning one’s speech (varṇa) and inner disposition (dayā) with the graha’s energy, so that intentions become siddha (fulfilled) through disciplined recitation.
Though framed as a Jyotiṣa mantra, it models bhakti through reverent invocation—seeking not only results but also virtues like compassion, making spiritual character part of the desired fruit.
Vedāṅga Jyotiṣa and mantra-śāstra: a graha-specific Gāyatrī is prescribed for japa to attain iṣṭa-siddhi, reflecting remedial/propitiatory practice (graha-śānti) within Vedic technical traditions.
