The Explanation of Sandhyā and Related Daily Observances
Saṅdhyā-ādi Nitya-karma-Vidhi
Narada (teaching the procedure as received in the dialogue with Sanatkumara tradition)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It joins outer rite with inner realization: arghya is offered to Surya’s orb, and then the practitioner is instructed to remember the divine presence within the Sun—turning a ritual act into contemplative worship.
Bhakti here is expressed as reverent service (offering arghya) followed by heartfelt remembrance (smaraṇa) of the Lord dwelling in Ravi—devotion moving from action to meditation.
It reflects ritual discipline and mantra-based procedure—especially the prescribed repetition (three offerings) and correct intention (dhyana of the deity in the solar disc), aligning with technical ritual practice taught in Vedanga-oriented sections.
